Night Waking

A poem I wrote when my little ones were still light enough to carry up the stairs!

Days in the darkness, nights in the light;

Eyes looking up at me

Shining so bright.

Exhausted from advice, overwhelmed with choice.

Possibilities;

And mine as your voice.

Mind in the darkness, fears in the light;

An article to read:

A search for insight.

Exhausted from rocking, overwhelmed with pride,

There’s nothing I can’t be

With you by my side.

Close in the darkness, hearts filled with light,

Eyes looking far from me:

The future is bright.

I’ll hold memories of you and me

Forever etched in my sight.
