what is copy?

Copy is often described as the words you write with the intention to sell your products and services (as opposed to content, which informs, describes, or explains your concepts, processes, and values to your reader). However, your website - and most of what you share about your business on the interwebs - naturally blends the two. Just as a clear photograph can say a thousand words, clear copy can build a picture in your reader’s mind that not only tells them what you have to say but shows them who you are. Do it well, and people begin to see whom they become by investing financially, spiritually, and emotionally in the work you are offering and the world you are weaving. An aligned website shares your vision, peaks interest in your mission, and filters your audience for resonance.

It’s not so much about what you say as how you say it! This is what deepens bonds or reveals dissonance.

what is brand voice coaching?

My approach to brand voice works from the foundation that effective brand copy should be clear, concise, and compelling.

Your website is not there to convince people that your work is valuable, explain to them what you do, or even “overcome objections.” The time of such outward-focused, and often manipulative, marketing is over (thank goodness). Your words should not only say, “I am a professional and worthy of your time” but also scream, “I am genuine and interesting to hang out with.” Words that come from a solid place of understanding who you are, what you bring, and why it truly matters can define your difference.

I encourage you to shake off the self-limiting beliefs to get your word out there in the clearest and purest way to those who need to hear it.

Believe me, I understand that time is tight as an entrepreneur, but I also know that the most effective way to reach your soul-aligned audience is with your own words, carefully crafted. For this reason, I prefer a collaborative approach whereby I support you in writing your own copy, teasing out of you what people need to know, magnifying your unique magic, and weaving through the essence of your true voice. I offer prompts, provide drafts, and give editorial guidance; however, I believe in the power and the energy of your words to magnetize your message for the right reader. This is why every site I co-write is different, and why the experience of writing the site is highly clarifying and affirming for you.

I work with intuitive and creative entrepreneurs who have a genuine passion for their work, a soul-inspired message to share, and a dream of making a difference to the lives of others. My clients tend to have multifaceted, and even multidimensional, offerings that can be elusive to pin down or complex to condense.

Does it feel like everyone else is better at expressing themselves than you?

There are many reasons your inner writer may be in hiding and most of them will fit into one of my three areas of content strategy: vision, voice, and vibration.

Here are some comments I encounter often related to vision:

“People don’t seem to get what I do.”
