We need to breathe every few words when we speak, and so does your audience when they read.

People will be less intimidated by spacious copy that allows room for each thought to sink in before you move to the next.

White space encourages your reader to reflect. Rather than feeling like a void or block, it encourages them to keep moving. Like a rest stop in a race.

The empty space is not a missed opportunity.

The break in the text doesn’t risk losing your reader’s attention. In fact, it focuses their eyes and mind on what is important. It creates emphasis to set apart the important ideas.

And skimmers will know exactly what the key takeaways at a quick glance.

As a rule of thumb, one paragraph should only be one to three sentences. Keep your sentences simple.

Then, hit “Enter” on your keyboard a couple of times before you continue your thought.

White space is just as important in copy as it is in graphic design or photography.

When your writing breathes, your reader is able to move through it with ease.
