read aloud to test flow and keep your reader engaged

Before you hit publish on your post, email, or article, take the time to read it. Read it as many times as you need to. Then, perform it. Put your words in the air to see how they land.

Does it sound right? Is there rhythm? The flow? How is the pace? Can you keep up?

Are there any areas that trip you up, twist your tongue, or simply turn it into a ‘Snorey Story’?

If so, strip out any unnecessary words. Vary your sentence lengths. Inject some more specific and unusual words.

Keeping things simple and original in a fast-paced world helps your audience quickly digest your content. Keeps them engaged. And helps them quickly decide if this content is for them.

(Weird voice change optional!)
